About Us

Welcome to the Wodonga-Albury Camera Club (WACC) website.

We are a group of keen photographers who enjoy our craft and sharing it with others. We like to gain knowledge to improve our art and strive to better our skills. Meeting with other like minded people to exhibit our work and to learn.

Our members shoot with both digital and film (colour, B&W and slide). Members using point and shoots, digital & 35mm SLR's, medium and large format cameras. Many members using photo imaging software to both enhance and manipulate their photographs. Some even like to get into the conventional darkroom to make their prints the old way, when they find the time.

Monthly competitions see prints entered from film and digital mediums - colour and monochrome. Monthly competitions also include an EDI competition (Electronic Digital Image) members enter digital files not prints.

We are also member of the Victorian Association of Photographic Societies (VAPS).

We have formed a sister club relationship with the Benalla Camera Club with the intension of sharing outings, workshops where possible. Once a year at an outing organized by each club alternately, we will compete for the 'Paatsch Challenge Shield', where 12 images will be submitted by each club, which will be judged by a VAPS judge. The winner is then announced at a function arranged by the host club.

Meetings

General meetings are held at the Felltimber Community Centre in West Wodonga on the second Monday of each month (Third Monday in January and June), commencing at 7:30pm until approx. 10:00pm.

The meeting agenda usually includes:

• The showing of the monthly Competition entries with judges scores and comments.
• Presentations by visiting judges, guests or members.
• Practical demonstrations may be arranged for some meetings.
• At the end of the presentations is a good time to have a closer look at competition entries and socialise with other members.

Information is given at meetings on local and national events; plans for future outings; club competitions and other photographic competitions.
