NEGV Association of Camera Clubs

North East and Goulburn Valley Association of Camera Clubs Inc.

The North East and Goulburn Valley Association of Camera Clubs (NEGV) is made up of four individual camera clubs, from the North East and Goulburn Valley area's of New South Wales and Victoria, Australia.

The following clubs form the association:

Alexandra Camera Club
Myrtleford/Bright Camera Club
Shepparton Camera Club
Wodonga-Albury Camera Club

NEGV Meetings

The NEGV meets three times a year, meetings alternate between the clubs, with the host club arranging a venue, a judge for the competition and planning the days activites. The host club may organise a workshop and dinner at a local restaurant.

NEGV Workshops

NEGV workshops are a chance for members to try something new or different and learn a new skill. Visiting judges usually hold workshops or presentations during NEGV meetings or alternate presenters are used.

Interclub Competition

An interclub photographic competition is part of each NEGV meeting, entries are exepted from all members of the NEGV. Members may enter 2 entries in Colour Print, Monochrome Print, Slide & EDI sections. All competitions are open subject.

The judge attends the meeting and presents competition entries with his/her comments on all entered images and usually presents some of their own work during the meeting.

Having the Judge present gives the opportunity for members to learn from judges and ask questions.

EDI Digital Section

Members may submit two digital images for the Digital Section.
Click here to download the document on Preparing Projected Digital Image by John Teague.

Aggregate

Points received by members in each of the competitions add towards the years Aggregate points, which are used in determaning member grades.

Aggregate point section winners are awarded with prizes at the November meeting.

The North East and Goulburn Valley Association of Camera Clubs was formed in 1962. Becoming a members of any one the six clubs automatically enables members to take part in the association and in the interclub competition.

Lecture

Our own David Woolcock gave a very informative presentation and demonstration on "The Art of Water Drop Photography" (it makes you proud that we have photographers of this calibre in the club).
Visiting judge Lin Richards gave us a "slide"presentation on "Cleaning up images and looking out of the square", aimed at beginners as what to look for within an image and what sort of equipment does what, however many an advanced photographer learnt a thing or two.

Congratulations to Sharon Alston for taking out the "B" Grade Colour Prints and another one of our members for taking out the "B" Grade EDI's.
