NEGV workshops are a chance for members to try something new or different and learn a new skill. In 2006 the Wodonga-Albury Camera Club held a workshop which explored Gum Bichromate printing - an alternative print making technique ('proto-photography'). Mr John Pollard, who is recognised as an expert in Gum printing and one of only a few who still use this method instructed the group in making their own print of an image they had captured. Another workshop our visiting judge instructed the group on studio lighting, complete with models to direct and photograph.
Interclub Competition
An interclub photographic competition is part of each NEGV meeting, entries are exepted from all members of the NEGV. Members may enter 2 entries in Colour Print, Monochrome Print, Slide & EDI sections. All competitions are open subject.
The judge attends the meeting and presents competition entries with his/her comments on all entered images and usually presents some of their own work during the meeting. Having the Judge present gives the opportunity for members to learn from judges and ask questions.
NEW Digital Section - EDI
Due to the success of the non-competitive digital section trialed in 2008 a Digital Section is now a fixture in the NEGVACC competition line up. Members may submit 2 digital images for the Digital Section. Click HERE to download the document on Preparing Projected Digital Image by John Teague.
Aggregate
Points received by members in each of the competitions add towards the years Aggregate points, which are used in determaning member grades. Aggregate point section winners are awarded with prizes at the November meeting.
The North East and Goulburn Valley Association of Camera Clubs was formed in 1962. Becoming a members of any one the six clubs automatically enables members to take part in the association and in the interclub competition.
