Founded in February 1953 by Tom Willoughby and Ron Smallpage after a group of photographers who lived in Wodonga decided to form a club in Wodonga. The Wodonga Camera Club members met at the Old RSL supper room (now Tony Conway's Sports Store, 194 High Street).

The Albury Camera Club located across the border was quite a distance in those days. Only one member of this club had a motor vehicle.

Later over the years the Albury Camera Club folded and members started to join the Wodonga Camera Club. As members came from NSW and VIC, in 1970 the Club changed its name to the Wodonga-Albury Camera Club.
